During 2001, Eddie Brophy and his team began the first ever 'Project Albert' aid mission into Kenya. The aim was to build new facilities, and improve on old infrastructure, which would benefit the underprivileged children of Nairobi, and the surrounding area. Let the story unfold for you by clicking on the link to the left.
In May 2002, Eddie led a small team of personnel, who departed from RAF Lyneham to begin what has become yet another landmark trip for the charity and, more importantly, for those people it is dedicated to help. The mission this time was to install a dental surgery in the village of Dandora.
Following the disappointment of 'Project Albert' being unable to fulfil its commitment to build a footbridge in 2003, a plan was formulated to fund and build two bridges in 2004. After securing the money from various sources, dates were set, and in October 2004 a team of 5 RAF Lyneham personnel departed to fulfil the obligation.
In 2006 we were involved with an extension to the bridge building programme, in partnership with 'Bridging the Gap', and assisted 'Africa Exchange' in their drive to produce a string of Integrated Child Development Centres (ICDCs) throughout the region. These ICDCs are essentially school buildings, but they are also so much more.
As a result of our previous successful projects, we now have several new projects in the planning stage.
