Our British Airways Jumbo Jet landed right on time and there
to greet us were Flight Lieutenant Tony Randerson and his accomplice
Flight Sergeant Chris Costello.
These two fine fellows are permanently
based in Nairobi as Royal Air Force Liaison Officers responsible
for the safe transit of service resources through this part of
the globe. With warm and wide smiles, they exchanged currencies
for us and drove us to our accommodation. In fact as events turned
out they did considerably more than that to help us achieve our
objectives.
The next day phone calls ensued and eventually we
made our way to Harmon Parker’s house, where we busied ourselves
with loading trailers, packing food, checking and double checking
all the bits and bobs we would need over the next 6 days. |
