Project Albert maintains a commitment to relieve poverty and sickness, to encourage the education of children and young people and to assist the underprivileged people of Kenya by purely practical means.

In the pursuance of our aims, we have had the pleasure of formulating strong relationships with, 'Bridging the Gap' and the 'Africa Exchange', bonds which have the potential to become even stronger, with prospects for the future being very bright indeed. Apart from the concept of building more much needed bridges and clinics for the poor and marginalised, the vision of constructing a string of schools for both the Maasai and Pokot people is both a real and achievable objective.

The new friendship established between Project Albert and ‘Lights for Learning’ has already produced results in that 2 schools will soon benefit from having solar powered lights to learn by, and work will continually be sought and undertaken in the slum communities of Nairobi. I have forgotten how many times I have fended off ill-targeted skepticism about taking on ambitious tasks with only a limited depth of either expertise or skill.

By virtue of its nature, the Royal Air Force fosters initiative and objectivity in a way that no other organisation does. It has certainly been my experience that a will to succeed, whatever the task or lack of resources available, always, always brings results. When surrounded by such motivated people, Project Albert can continue to do extraordinary things to help those less fortunate, whilst simultaneously enlightening its participants to the ways of the world along the way, and that’s pretty good too. The physical work undertaken this year will benefit a lot of people for many years to come. It is a fact that through it’s activities Project Albert has certainly alleviated suffering and saved countless lives as well.

The key to Project Albert’s continued success is really a very simple one, money. There are several fundraising initiatives already underway at RAF Lyneham and as a consequence we are optimistic about attaining Project Albert’s financial targets, certainly over the next 18 months. Active, enthusiastic people are giving their time to innovatively generate funds for future Project Albert ventures. If you brush with them, please give them your support. If someone offers you a Project Albert Christmas Pudding or some other piece of Project Albert paraphernalia, please buy one, at least now you know where your money is going.
